Loftus Ross LLP Adds Partners, Changes Name to ROSS RIGBY & PATTEN LLP

QUEENSBURY — Loftus Ross LLP, the Queensbury-based accounting and business management firm, has announced that Leo A. Rigby, CPA, CISA, and Heather D. Patten, CPA, have become partners in the firm. The name of the firm is now ROSS RIGBY & PATTEN LLP.

"Our firm has set a standard of excellence in accounting and business management for more than 60 years," said Thomas J. Ross, CPA, CTP, president of the firm. "The addition of Leo and Heather as partners will ensure the continuation of that tradition for many years to come."

Mr. Rigby is a vice president and treasurer of the firm, and the partner in charge of accounting and auditing services. He is responsible for audit review and compilation services as well as personal financial statement preparation, financial systems implementation and training, and consulting services. Additional responsibilities include staff training, technology management, and client administrative matters.

Mr. Rigby originally joined the firm in 1999. After a period of years in private practice, he returned in 2006. A CPA since 1992, he is a graduate of Clarkson University and is also a certified information systems auditor. He has extensive experience in auditing, finance and accounting in the industrial and professional settings. He is vice president and program chair of the Glens Falls Rotary Club, a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. Mr. Rigby lives in Queensbury with his wife, Cindy. The Rigbys have three children.

Ms. Patten is a vice president and secretary of the firm, and the partner in charge of tax compliance issues. Her main responsibilities include supervising the firm’s tax department staffin the areas of individual taxation, payroll, sales tax and employee benefit plan compliance filings. She also works on taxation issues for not-for-profit organizations, corporations and partnerships; provides tax research for the firm and its clients; and assists with governmental tax audits.

Ms. Patten joined the firm in 2002, after earning her CPA designation from New York State the previous year. The Hudson Falls native graduated magna cum laude from Siena College in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. She also earned an associate’s degree from Adirondack Community College, graduating with honors. Ms. Patten is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. She resides in her hometown of Hudson Falls.
